The Queen’s Birthday

Queen's 90th 08On Sunday 12th June 2016 we celebrated Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday with Tea in the churchyard followed by a special service of Evensong.

Over 60 people enjoyed sandwiches, tea and cakes all home made by a wonderful team from the church. Those present included members of the regular congregation, people from the wider church family and guests from the community.

Mr Noel Simpson prepared a small exhibition recalling Woolbeding over the past 90 years.  This included pictures of people and events as well as photographs of all the Rectors.IMAG0520

Despite a very poor forecast, the sun shone and the rain held off until the service inside the church began. The service was led by the Rector, Dave Willis and the preacher was Reverend John Hickman.  John with great clarity about all that we have to be thankful for in our Queen who, on her 21st birthday promised that…

Queen's 90th 07‘my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service’.

The choir from Midhurst Parish Church led the singing and the hymns included Now Thank we all our God, I Vow to Thee my Country and the National Anthem.
